چکیده
Warthin’s tumor, cystadenolymphoma, papillary cytoadenoma lymphomatomsum and adenolymphoma are all different terminology of the same pathology. Warthin’s tumor is a benign salivary gland tumor arises almost exclusively in intraor periparotid lymphoid stroma and represents 5-8% of all salivary gland tumors. It accounts for 8-12% of all benign tumors affecting the parotid gland, and ranks as the second most common tumor affecting the parotid [1].

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma: recognizing it early in children with otitis media with effusion.
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a rare disease in children. Children with NPC almost always have the undifferentiated variant of the disease, which is associated with advanced locoregional and distant metastasis. We report two cases to illustrate that high index of suspicion is necessary to diagnose NPC in children especially those with atypical presentation of otitis media with effusion (OME).

SUMMARY 2000 ,Tehran schoolaged children, were included in a randomized trial to evaluate the risk factors for otitis media with effusion through interviews, a written questionnaire, otoscopy pneumatic and tympanometry. We found that the incidence of OME increased in children with parents who smoke (P<0.001) and were bottle fed as babies (P<0.005). Others factor such as, allergy, sinusitis, p...
متن کاملPostirradiation otitis media with effusion in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients treated by intensity-modulated radiotherapy.
OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS Postirradiation otitis media with effusion (OME) is a common adverse otologic effect in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients treated by radiotherapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the long-term incidence of postirradiation OME in NPC patients following intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and to evaluate the potential factors associated with the developm...

Introduction:To evaluate the role of allergic-type and infectious-type cytokines in children with chronic otitis media with effusion (OME) Materials and Methods:We investigated serum levels of interleukins (IL)-4, IL-5, and IL-13, along with interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 35 children with OME and 28 healthy contr...
متن کاملHigh incidence of Haemophilus influenzae in nasopharyngeal secretions and middle ear effusions as detected by PCR.
PCR was used to detect Haemophilus influenzae in samples of nasopharyngeal secretion and middle ear effusion (MEE). Nasopharyngeal secretions were collected from 102 patients with otitis media with effusion and from 111 healthy subjects. Eighty samples of MEE were collected from patients with otitis media with effusion. A pair of primers was designed to amplify a DNA segment of the gene encodin...
